1. Salted MSG:
- Homogeneous mixture of refined sugar added in sodium glutamate.
- Sodium glutamate content - should not be less than 80%.
- Edible salt content - should be less than 20%.
- Iron content - should be less than or equal to 10 mg/kg
2. Ordinary MSG:
- Sodium glutamate content - should not be less than 97%.
- Freshener (Di sodium nucleotide) content - should be less than 1.5%.
- Iron content - less than or equal 5 mg/kg.
3. Added MSG:
- Sodium glutamate content - 99%.
- Freshener or salt content - less than 1%.
