"The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is not fully developed
in newborns, and although there is some evidence that it is
not fully developed in some children until puberty, when it
reaches full maturity is unknown", Dr. Blayblock (1995) says.
"It is definitely not fully developed in any fetus. Furthermore,
throughout life, certain regions of the brain, known as the
circumventricular organs, lack a blood brain barrier", Broadwell and Sofroniew (1993) explain.
In addition, BBB can be damaged by following processes.
1. high fever
2. stroke
3. head trauma
4. seizures
5. repeated MSG ingestion
6. normal aging process
