There is a growing trend among commercial food manufacturers to label their product as "NO MSG" or "NO ADDED MSG" or "NO MSG ADDED". Mind you, MSG (E621) is only one out of six food additives that contain free glutamic acid. If the label says any of above, that doesn't exclude other five types (E620, E622 - E625) or any synergistic food additive (E627, E631, E635) being present.
So, look carefully for below ingredients also.
E620 - L-Glutamic acid
E622 - Mono potassium glutamate
E623 - Calcium glutamate
E624 - Mono ammonium L-glutamate
E625 - Magnesium di-L-glutamate
E627 - Disodium 5' guanylate
E631 - Disodium 5' inosinate
E635 - Disodium 5' riboneucleotides
